Bring in the Bold Blue for Sjogren’s

April is National Sjogren’s Syndrome Awareness Month, as hosted by the Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation. Many of our readers consist of those who have been diagnosed with this disease, which is a disorder of the immune system that has two common symptoms: dry eyes and dry mouth.

Sjogren’s Syndrome & Dry Mouth

The Sjogren’s Syndrome Foundation aims to spread awareness of the disease during the month of April. They have launched a month-long event to raise money for the foundation and to help those who have both undiagnosed and diagnosed cases of the disease. Organizations, typically schools and offices, can host a “Bold Blue Day” throughout the month of April, on which their employees or students turn in their normal, everyday attire for bold, blue outfits. These “dress-down” days are supported with donations from participants, and all proceeds go to the Foundation.
